K2 BILLION COLLECTED FROM TOLL GATES

The National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) collected K2.1 billion in tolls revenue from Jan to June 2026 which was disbursed for road projects and related activities across the country.
Speaking at the Lusaka Agricultural and Commercial Show today, NRFA Public Relations Manager Alphonsius Hamachila has said that K1.3 billion was collected from the 26 Toll Gates operated by the Agency while 874 million was realised from Ports of Entry.

Mr. Hamachila said K4.8 million was collected through the newly launched mobile money toll payment platform which was introduced this year to provide motorists with a flexible and convenient way of paying tolls at all Toll Gates operated by the Agency countrywide alongside existing payment methods which include E-Toll Card and cash payments.
He urged motorist to continue using cashless payment systems as the adoption of digital payment solutions by road users, providing a faster, safer, and more convenient way to pay toll fees and improving service delivery.
And the NRFA, has saved over K600 million on road projects in from 2011 todate through strengthened monitoring and evaluation activities on road projects

The savings are a result of enhanced oversight, improved scrutiny on interim payment certificates, and rigorous project monitoring, ensuring that public resources are used efficiently and deliver maximum value for money.
The NRFA remains committed to promoting transparency, prudent financial management, and effective stewardship of road sector funds in support of sustainable infrastructure development
