Motorists in Western Province have paid tribute to government for upgrading the Nalumino Mundia Toll Gate between Lusaka and Mongu and installing it state of the art Toll collection facilities.
Speaking when National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) Public Relations Manager Alphonsius Hamachiila flagged off the Electronic Toll Card Campaign in Mongu ahead of the Kuomboka Traditional Ceremony of the Lozi speaking people this weekend, several motorists said road tolling at the station had tremendously improved with less traffic congestion as was the case at the low grade Toll Gate which has since been decomissioed.
Motorists and Toll Collectors had to operate in the rains as the old Toll collection point operated without a canopy and only used one lane for both the west and south bound traffic.
And Mr. Hamachila has said the Agency had embarked on a deliberate programme to modernise its 10 low grade Toll Gates cross the country to enhance operational efficiencies for the comfort to its stakeholders.
He urged motorists travelling to the Kuomboka Traditional Ceremony to acquire the Electronic Toll Card to further reduce localised congestion at the Toll Gates on Lusaka Mongu Road.
