UPDATE ON REVISED TOLLS FOR SELECTED VEHICLE CLASSES

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has authorised Road Toll increment for selected vehicle classes from 1st January 2026 in line with revenue estimates contained in the 2026 National Budget.

The increment is contained in Statutory Instrument No. 100 of 2025, Statutory Instrument and No. 101 of 2025 and Statutory Instrument No. 102 of 2025 which have since been published in the Government Gazette.

The increment will only affect medium heavy vehicles, heavy vehicles, and abnormal load vehicles and will be effected at all NRFA operated Toll Gates, including three Toll Gates located on the Lusaka-Ndola Road under the Concessionnaire, MOIC-LN Consotium Limited.

Tolls applicable to small vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, including cars, vans and minibuses up to 16 seats will remain at K20 per passage. Tolls for Light vehicles with two axles , including minibuses of more than 3.5 to 6.5 tonnes with 17 to 30 seats will also remain at K40 together with buses above 30 seats at K50 per passage.

Medium heavy vehicles with more that 6.5 tonnes with 2 to 4 axles will pay K200 while heavy vehicles with 4 axles and above will pay K300 and K3000 will be paid by abnormal load vehicles.

Applicable fees for Michael Chilufya Sata Toll Gate between Ndola and Kitwe are K400 for medium heavy vehicles with more that 6.5 tonnes with 2 to 4 axles, K600 for heavy vehicles with 4 axles and above while abnormal load vehicles will pay K1000.
